Peter's experience of walking on water is very instructional for every Christian walk. He had no problem walking on the water as long as he kept his eyes fixed on Jesus. But the moment he took his eyes off Jesus, and started to notice the wind and the waves, he started to sink. Jesus chastized him for his lack of faith. Let that be a constant reminder in our lives that everything we're able to do, is because of our faith in Jesus. Apart from Christ, we can do nothing. We are nothing.

Supporting verses:

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."-John 15:5

Matthew 14:22-33

  • '“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”'
